Basic Purpose

Responsible for planning, directing, and controlling maintenance operations at the Souderton, Harleysville, and Easton locations to ensure efficient and safe operations in accordance with company goals. Provide effective leadership and assign responsibilities; train, monitor and improve the performance of reporting staff in accordance with Company policies and government regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop equipment and facilities maintenance policies, procedures, and systems, and coordinate implementation and compliance.

2. Monitor and minimize downtime and identify areas for improvement.

3. Responsible for budget adherence, work methods, and authorization of overtime to control costs.

4. Drive improvement efforts through management of key performance indicators including maintenance safety, downtime, and equipment effectiveness.

5. Manage implementation of Computerized Maintenance Management System (MaintainX)to plan and track reactive, planned, and preventive work orders.

6. Integrate maintenance purchasing and parts inventory control functions into Computerized Maintenance Management System (MaintainX) to ensure proper materials and spare parts are at required levels.

7. Source vendors for maintenance projects. Oversee installations with selected vendors and internal staff, ensuring compliance with budget, schedules, and quality of work.

8. Ensure that routine equipment checks are completed on all PLC's and essential equipment.

9. Schedule coverage for maintenance at all locations as well as weekend coverage

10. Continuously evaluate maintenance team to identify strengths/weaknesses and development areas as well as identify outside talent

11. Provide training of maintenance team members to increase technical expertise and employee safety.

12. Actively participate in the Company's safety programs and committees to achieve an optimum level of employee safety.

13. Keep abreast of current maintenance and manufacturing technologies and systems.

14. Ensure compliance with USDA, OSHA, EPA, EEO, and other appropriate government regulations.

15. Perform other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Company business objectives.

Note: this position will work side by side with the current Maintenance Director and will need to learn all job duties associated with the Maintenance Director position as part of succession.

Supervisory Responsibilities

1. Responsible for approximately 20 maintenance employees across 3 locations

2. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the companies' policies and applicable laws.

a. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring

b. training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

·Bachelor's Degree in related field and seven to ten years of related maintenance management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Poultry and pork processing plant maintenance experience preferred.

Strong technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate and relate to people at all levels of the organization, and with outside vendors.

Initiative and innovative thinking to meet challenges with resourcefulness.

Ability to work effectively with all stakeholders and motivate reporting personnel to meet/exceed expectations.

Well-organized and self-directed individual who is able to successfully plan, manage, and execute multiple assignments/projects in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with computer software, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and CMMS (MaintainX preferred)
