What your day looks like
Under general supervision, load and unload racks of processed products from smokehouses. Monitor smokehouses as product cooks and smokes. Monitor smokehouse temperatures and humidty, product temperatures and color of product according to company specifications as well as compliance with USDA standards. Wash smoke racks and prepare for production areas. Follows all USDA and Leidy SQF, HACCP, GMP requirements. Maintain and observe all safety rules and regulations at all times. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Specific Responsibilities:
Oversee Production: Monitor and guide the production line to ensure smooth and efficient
operations, meeting production goals and deadlines.
Troubleshooting: Identify and address any machine malfunctions or operational issues,
providing solutions to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
Team Coordination: Assign tasks to team members, ensuring that work is evenly distributed
and that everyone is working efficiently toward common production goals.
Quality Control: Ensure that products meet quality standards by conducting regular
inspections and addressing any deviations.
Communication: Act as a point of contact for team members, answering questions and
providing guidance to ensure smooth operation and adherence to procedures.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working
environment for all team members.
Report Maintenance: report to on site maintenance with any problems
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with experience in a
leadership role.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine and operational issues.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Education/Skills:
At least 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in a leadership role)
Basic Math and Reading skills
Experience using Outlook/Teams/Excel/Word
Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language - speaking Spanish would be a
huge plus
Must be able to stand, bend, lift for up to 8-12 hours
Knowledge and understanding of GMPs and SOPs a plus
Hours: 4am-4pm or until workload is finished
Who Are You
Must be able to follow directions, have basic math, communication, and interactions skills. Must be able to differentiate between products and correct smoke cycles, taking care to monitor houses for proper and efficient operation. Some functions require repetitive motion such as pinch & hard grasping knife. Must be able to lift, push, or pull 80 lbs. frequently. Must be able to pinch, grasp hard, perform fine manipulations repetitively, work on or near moving machinery, and work with arms above shoulder level. Must be able to occasionally bend, squat, twist and frequently reach. Must be able to continuously stand. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to work overtime as required.
