What your day looks like:
Job Summary:
The Feed Milling Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely inventory records across liquid, bulk, and bagged feed products. This role ensures precise tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of all inbound materials, in-process usage, and finished goods inventory. The specialist monitors stock levels, investigates variances, and partners with mill operations, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure data integrity and alignment with production needs. A strong emphasis is placed on accuracy, accountability, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Through regular audits, reporting, and system updates, the Feed Milling Inventory Specialist supports operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Milling Operations
· Grain tester - DON testing; dockage; moisture, bushel weight and foreign material; auto and manual truck probing
· Perform the function of "hand-adds," the manual addition of feed ingredients and accurately recording medication and vitamin usage
· Develop a basic level of understanding in animal nutrition and how ingredients interact with milling and grinding processes.
· Clean and perform routine housekeeping of the mill.
· Understands general mechanical duties typically needed.
· Navigate, use, and understand Laserfiche, The Wenger System and WEM as appropriate
Ingredient and Inventory Management
Maintain inventory accuracy of all bagged
Perform inventory reconciliation
Maintain bag inventories, stacked and orderly
Administrative and Other
Complete required training in a timely manner
Perform other duties determined by the Mill Manager, Mill Supervisor or Mill Shift Supervisor

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Ability to lift up to a maximum of 100lbs with assistance of other team members.
Ability to operate heavy machinery for items over 100lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and work in high places.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Ability to work in dusty conditions
Position Requirements:
A minimum requirement of a high school degree or equivalent
Accumulated solid foundation of general work experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Background in agriculture through education and/or experience preferred.
Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance preferred.
Ability to operate various types of machinery and heavy equipment preferred.
Valid fork-lifting certificate or willingness to obtain certificate in the first 12 months of employment preferred.
Must be available and willing to work overtime, any shift including weekends
