What your day looks like
Work directly with Production and Financial Management Teams concerning product costs, production variances and production improvements. Develop and maintain the cost accounting models and systems for the company, including estimating cost of new and potential items. Implement Industrial Engineering practices, such as Work Measurement and Time Study to develop accurate labor, material, and other production standard costs.
Specific Responsibilities
· Responsible for reviewing and developing cost analysis for all products.
· Responsible for coordinating the internal costing process for all new products.
· Review all product cost models to ensure production standards and meat standards are appropriate. Be familiar with and update ERP Bill of Materials and cost accounting module.
· Responsible for all cost reporting and production reporting as applies to product cost.
· Assist and support the monthly close process as it relates to inventory and production variance reporting. Understanding of work in progress.
· Perform Work Measurement and Time Study to develop labor standards of products and product lines.
· Responsible for product line analysis including product line profitability.
· Assist Senior Leadership Team in capital expenditure justification (ROI) and in the analysis of production efficiency/effectiveness.
· Assist in planning and layout of equipment in production facilities.
· Assist in inventory reporting and in audit/verification of inventory accuracy.
· Possess a continuous improvement mindset and makes recommendations to streamline processes/improve accuracy throughout the company.
· Performs ad-hoc analysis as required utilizing Excel, ODBC connections to ERP system data and other software tools.
· Accepts assignments varying in size and scope as well as other duties as assigned.
