Job Description: Flock Services - Intern

The Wenger Group internships offer students a unique exposure to many facets of technology and its relationship with agriculture. This position is ideal for a college student studying in the field of flock services to meet both student and company objectives for a mutually beneficial experience.

What will you do:

Pullet Service
  • Chick placement
  • Pullet Management
  • Vaccinations and pullet health

Flock Service
  • Layer hen management
  • Bird health monitoring and functions
  • Veterinary Visits
  • Cage, Cage-free, and organic production

Egg Marketing
  • Egg markets and sales
  • Warehouse operations

Animal Welfare and Marketing Programs
  • Pennsylvania Egg Quality Assurance Program(PEQAP)
  • Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • American Humane Certified/Humane Farm Animal Care(AHC/HFAC)
  • Pennsylvania Certified Organic/National Organic Program(PCO/NOP)

Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Who are you:
  • Currently enrolled in a college program
  • Strong understanding of basic animal health principles and concepts.
  • Familiarity with the poultry and feed sectors of the agricultural industry
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
