Position Summary:

The Business Unit Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the select shared services operations of Wenger Global Procurement. He/she is responsible for implementing a governance model that ensures proactive engagement and collaboration with the business, establishing global business processes that allow the company to operate more efficiently, and for establishing a performance-based culture that drives towards continuous service improvement and cost reduction. This role involves working with multiple shared service teams, ensuring efficient and effective operations, compliance, and continuous improvement. The Business Unit Services Manager will work closely with leadership to implement strategic objectives and help develop and advance the operations.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and operational direction to the shared services functions, by ensuring the teams understand the mission and align the priorities of the team to support those of the business.
  • Develop delivery strategies and performance metrics that ensure that the organization support the objectives of the business units related to operational performance and cost improvement.
  • Oversee the service center to ensure exceptional service delivery that meets or exceeds service level agreements (SLAs) and achieves productivity and efficiency for each customer of Wenger Global Procurement's Shared Services operation.
  • Collaborate with business unit management and functional leads to define standardized business processes.
  • In conjunction with leadership, establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Regularly communicate expectations and ensure departmental performance goals are clear and understood, prioritizing attainable business unit outcomes.
  • Effectively manage service requirements within budget and establish adequate controls and audits to maintain accountability in cost management.
  • Ensure all service center activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Coordinate with leadership and department stakeholders to identify areas to streamline processes through improvements in technology and workflow.
  • Implement directives from the leadership team across the select shared services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identify and attract top talent to join the Shared Services team.
  • Provide support for training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members, fostering continuous professional growth and development.
  • Establish a methodology to transition in-scope work from the business to the service centers. Proactively seek out opportunities to expand the reach of the organization through expanding the services it offers.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in shared services or a related field, with at least 3 years' experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in the Agribusiness industry is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to motivate others and drive change throughout an organization.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Demonstrate core values in all aspects of leadership.
  • Demonstrate proactive, collaborative relationships with internal customers and stakeholders, proving the value of the GBS through active engagement, process excellence, and metric-driven performance reporting.
