What your day looks like:

The Assistant Agronomy Manager is responsible for managing the procurement, inventory and sales for the fertilizer business for our Risser locations. He/She will drive new fertilizer sales and be the main relationship manager, in conjunction with the Agronomy Department Manager.
  • Develop new relationships with prospective customers to drive new business while maintaining best in class service to the current customer base
  • Work with Dispatch and Location Managers to schedule deliveries
  • Manage Fertilizer Procurement, Inventory and Sales
  • Support the department with data to drive Pricing Schedules, Marketing Strategies, Customer Service Initiatives
  • Manage Agronomy products such as seed, tanks and miscellaneous retail items
  • Manage customer accounts receivable, vendor accounts payable
  • Collaborate with manager to develop strategies to increase customers for grain and fertilizer
  • Forecast and coordinate inbound fertilizer deliveries for truck and rail
  • Provide data analysis and assistance for grain and fertilizer business
  • Assist Grain Merchandisers with customer service, buying and scheduling
  • Provide relationship management with farmers using agronomy and market knowledge
  • Provide support to Red Lion and Turbotville as needed
  • Develop an understanding of the core values of the company, and direction the company is moving.
  • Bring new ideas to the table that are in line with goals of the business.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment independently, be flexible and multi-task.
  • Address errors, problems and complaints within scope of authority
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who are you:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred but not required, high school degree required
  • Minimum of 5+ years' related experience OR an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience required
  • Agronomy background or experience required
  • Passion to serve in the ag industry is very important and ability to become familiar with seed and fertilizer product
  • Valid driver's license
