What your day looks like : Leidy's is a meat manufacturing company in Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced second shift Lead Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in their busy operations. Maintain a positive work relationship with all employees and in particular members of your staff in a management role. Complete necessary paperwork as required by your Manager. Perform all other duties as assigned in accordance with Leidy's, LLC employee handbook and safety rules and regulations and all applicable laws and standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
Lead team of 3-4 Industrial Maintenance Mechanics, effectively and efficiently repairing breakdowns to support and keep production running in all areas of the facility.
Perform repairs as an experienced breakdown mechanic and assign tasks to other mechanics assuring effective service to operations.
Effectively communicate with Director of Maintenance and Maintenance Supervisor to assure all shifts are fully aware of needs, concerns and repairs done between shifts
Assure preventative maintenance tasks are performed and completed to support production operations in a fast paced environment.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic/hydraulic problems on all plant equipment.
Complete work orders in a timely manner to the highest quality standards.
Assure effectively communicate between shifts when work is passed along and detailed log book entries.
Troubleshoot equipment problems accurately and efficiently.
Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety and GMP policies/guidelines.
Support plant's Continuous Improvement Program.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
Who Are You : You have a high school diploma or the equivalent. Preferably successful completion of industrial technologies certificate program. 3-5 years progressive technical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in the meat industry. Knowledge of policies, standards and specifications including safety policies and procedures for safe equipment operation. You have good oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with key coworkers, including department managers, line operators, quality assurance personnel and contractors. TIG welding on stainless steel a plus. Competent with arc and gas welding. Experience with high-speed packaging and processing equipment. Knowledgeable and experience in electrical and PLC a plus.
