The Commodity Trade and Risk Management Intern is accountable to develop core skills and working knowledge of Scoular business practices and operations through straightforward projects, and other duties requested by the manager. Our team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing our legacy CTRM (Commodity Trade and Risk Management) system.  The CTRM software (previously known as AS400) has been custom-developed by Scoular employees for Scoular-specific functionality in the areas of Contracting, Shipping, Inventory, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.  We are continually working to modernize the user interface and developing dashboards, point-and-click menu navigation, and interactive reporting.


 


Essential Functions:



  • Perform analysis of the current CTRM to identify modernization opportunities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and business leaders to develop new functionality

  • Web interface design (updating and streamlining the Web CTRM skin)

  • Discover opportunities to utilize Robotic Process Automation to improve the end user and/or IT experience with the CTRM


In performing their responsibilities, employees are expected to perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision, interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers, work effectively as a team contributor and independently while understanding the necessity for communication with other employees and throughout Scoular.

Requirements


  • Working towards a degree in Information Technology or a related field

  • A keen eye for detail and dedication to accuracy and quality

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Self-starter and ability to work well in a team environment

  • Understanding of modern programming languages

  • Working knowledge of SQL and other query languages

  • Understanding of APIs
