The Communications and Social Media Coordinator will use his or her exceptional writing skills to collaborate with others across the company to tell Scoular's story of growth and innovation. The primary duty is conducting interviews and writing informative, clear, and accurate stories for Scoular's internal and external communication channels, including the company intranet, internal memos, and press releases. This position also is responsible for the strategic planning, writing, scheduling, and posting of daily updates for Scoular's social media channels. This employee will develop an on-brand social media voice in order to increase Scoular's largely B2B digital audiences. Conduct interviews, perform basic research, and write content to support Scoular's corporate communications and brand marketing strategy, including company intranet news and features, internal memos, press releases, power point presentations and marketing collateral.
Post content to intranet: Write engaging headlines, collect complementary photos, perform basic editing/proofreading, including seeking opportunities to present information in alternative story forms (Q&As, photo galleries, videos, etc.)
Develop, schedule, and write daily updates for Scoular's social media channels that align with brand messaging and overall communication strategy.
Collaborate with others on the Brand Marketing and Corporate Communications Team to develop and execute Scoular's social media strategy.
Develop compelling visual content - photo, video, and infographics - for social media channels.
Bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communications, public relations or related field of study required.
At least one to three years of relevant work experience, including writing, required.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Ability to conduct interviews
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Strong knowledge of AP style
Exceptional proofreading skills and attention to accuracy
Strong sense of urgency and curiosity
Ability to work independently at a fast pace and juggle multiple assignments at once
Strong organizational and planning skills
Ability to work in Omaha, Nebraska, work at least 40 hours per week
