About the Role
The Production Supervisor provides operations-level leadership and accountability for contract growers, independent caretakers, and HANOR employees in the Northern Illinois region. This position ensures the consistent execution of animal care, facility management, and production practices in alignment with The HANOR Way and HANOR Production Practices (HPP).
Area Snapshot
- Grow-finish operations with contract growers and HANOR caretakers
- Direct accountability for performance, compliance, and execution of daily practices
- Backup support for GDU & G.A.P. flows
Key Responsibilities
- Lead farm visits, coaching, and training to uphold standards for animal care, biosecurity, and facility management.
- Participate in farm activities to model expectations and provide hands-on training.
- Partner with veterinarians, nutrition, and caretakers to manage feed, herd health, and marketing.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate weekly priorities including markets, culls, and feed deliveries.
- Hold contract growers, caretakers, and employees accountable for safety, compliance, and production results.
- Report KPIs and ensure consistent communication across farms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum one year of successful grow-finish or swine production experience required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; Spanish proficiency preferred.
- PQA and TQA certifications required; HANOR AWB training required.
