About the Role
The Farm Manager provides operational leadership for a sow production site, ensuring effective animal husbandry, facility maintenance, employee supervision, engagement, and compliance with production protocols. This role is accountable for delivering consistent results in production performance, safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare, while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and alignment with The HANOR Way.

- Sow production operations include breeding, gestation, farrowing, and piglet care
- Direct oversight of Department Heads and Animal Production Specialists
- Accountability for production performance, compliance, and daily execution of farm practices
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily farm operations to ensure compliance with production protocols, animal welfare, and biosecurity standards.
- Supervise, develop, and hold Department Heads and Animal Production Specialists accountable.
- Monitor herd health and partner with Veterinary Services to implement treatment and prevention protocols.
- Ensure accurate and timely production records, including animal movements, treatments, mortality, inventory, and KPIs.
- Maintain sanitation, environmental controls, and feeding systems to support optimal animal care and efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of facilities, equipment, and farm infrastructure.
- Order and manage supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Animal Welfare, Biosecurity, and HANOR Production Practices (HPP).
- Conduct routine walkthroughs to identify and correct operational or compliance issues.
- Drive employee engagement through coaching, training, and daily communication.
- Achieve production goals and performance expectations set by leadership.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months leadership experience as a Department Head; 3+ years of sow production experience preferred.
- Competency in Basic & Advanced Breeding and Farrowing (HANOR Production Practices or equivalent).
- Swine production or agricultural experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze production data and drive performance improvements.
