Environmental and Nutrient Associate

About the Role

The Environmental and Nutrient Associate supports the Environmental and Nutrient Manager in administering HANOR's environmental compliance programs. This role ensures adherence to applicable federal and state environmental regulations while supporting nutrient management operations and daily field activities in alignment with The HANOR Way.

Battleboro Area Snapshot

• Environmental and nutrient management operations supporting crop production
• Direct involvement with irrigation systems, lagoons, and nutrient application
• Hands-on role supporting compliance, inspections, and operational execution

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on irrigation and effluent pump systems
• Operate irrigation pivots to apply water and nutrients to growing crops
• Coordinate timing and application rates with Environmental and Nutrient Manager
• Maintain accurate records of pivot operations and nutrient applications
• Assist with lagoon maintenance and cleaning
• Support nutrient management inspections and documentation
• Assist farm managers with production and transportation activities
• Support environmental risk identification and mitigation efforts
• Assist in development of environmental compliance policies
• Ensure efficient execution of all environmental processes

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions and prioritize work effectively
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic problem-solving and reasoning ability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education & Experience

• No prior experience required (training provided)
• Basic math skills required
• Must obtain LMFO Waste Management Education Certificate (9-hour course)
• Annual LMFO refresher required (3-hour course)
