Each year as part of the Renewables segment The Andersons refines corn into millions of gallons of ethanol a low-cost clean-burning high-octane renewable fuel product for refiners fuel blenders and convenienceÂstores.

Our investment in ethanol is a natural extension of our core business competencies in grain operations corn originations and commodity processing. In addition to ethanol these facilities collectively produce E-85 feed products and corn oil which is key to the renewable dieselÂindustry.

This position is responsible for managing small work teams in a fast paced high volume production environment. Under direction of the Process Manager the Processing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production of ethanol to achieve productivity and quality goals while maintaining a safe work environment.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for assigning monitoring adjusting and controlling operations functions associated with the production of fuel ethanol and associated co-products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a small team of processing operators. Train guide and develop employees; monitor assess and manage performance and expectations
  • Monitor and analyze processing schedules logs and test results. Provide or review laboratory recommendations; adjust equipment settings or raw materials inputs to ensure consistent and optimal efficiency in the production process
  • Provide input and recommendations to maintenance logistics grain and other plant departments that will ensure consistent and optimal production efficiency
  • Perform all activities in all areas of ethanol production

  • Proposes improvements to processes
  • Act as a lead coordinating the work of others
  • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required Associateâs Degree preferred
  • 5+ yearsâ relevant experience required
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the handling of hazardous materials safety procedures and personal protection equipment
  • Demonstrated competence in all four work areas of ethanol production cook distillation energy center DCS
  • Demonstrated intermediate level computer skills including programs associated with ethanol production
  • Additional specialized training or certification such as boiler operation water quality etc. required
  • Valid driverâs license
