Job Description:

Titan Lansing a wholly owned subsidiary of the Andersons is a turnkey logistics company servicing our customers from mine to well. Services include frac sand storage trucking sand production and transloading.Â


The Quality Control Technician is responsible for routine sampling and testing of proppants ensuring all products meet or exceed industry specifications and all testing procedures and practices are in compliance. ÂThis position will be located at our Buffalo Grass terminal located between Carlsbad and Hobbs New Mexico.

Position Summary

This position is responsible routine sampling and testing of proppants produced ensuring all product meet or exceed industry specifications and all testing procedures and practices are in compliance with API and ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize daily duties/tasks coordinate with crew members communicate with management and customers and maintain written or electronic records
  • Provide periodic reports to management regarding product quality
  • Perform sieve in accordance with approved methods and procedures
  • Perform data entry and analysis
  • Perform additional testing and tasks including: sample gathering. analysis of sand/proppants air quality sampling and monitoring assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to operations equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Observe report troubleshoot and correct situations that are likely to develop into operational problems or safety hazards
  • Participate in performing a wide variety of maintenance tasks such as removing trash and debris from work area and completing routine preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and complete thorough shift changeovers
  • Operate all equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks such as computers monitors UTV sieve shakers and other testing equipment
  • Assist in cross-training of shift personnel
  • Maintain work area in a clean orderly condition

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Has basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
  • Works within clearly defined standard operations procedures and or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
  • Works with close supervision

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • 0-2 yearsâ relevant experience required

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

  • Ability to work inside and outside in environmental conditions and may include extremes in temperatures
  • Must be able to sit/stand for an extended period of time
  • Exposure to dust chemicals hazardous materials etc.
