Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing the Accounting and Administrative functions for the business unit including preparing and reviewing financial reports overseeing day-to-day transaction processing and leading a team of Accounting and Administrative Staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages the Accounting and Administrative function with the business including managing a team of financial analysts and administrative staff.
- Reports current and expected financial performance and creates financial models to guide decision making.
- Oversees the preparation of internal financial reports including derivative accounting and operational analysis to support decision making in a manner that aids managementâs understanding of current and future results as well as to support month-end financial reporting.
- Assists with the budget and forecasting process for the business unit.
- Lead new projects and process improvement initiatives including establishing and maintaining policies controls and procedures for the business.
- Trusted individual to review and approve company payments and invoices.
- Selects trains develops and motivates the team of financial analysts and administrative staff.
What is expected of you and others at this level
- Decisions are guided by policies procedures a business plan and a control environment and receives guidance form senior manager and business unit leaders.
- Understands risk management and hedging policies currency and commodity hedging and applies this knowledge to day-to-day transactions and financial reporting.
- Understands the control environment and assists with internal and external audits as it relates to grain and derivative accounting.
- Manages coaches and trains a team and provides technical guidance to employees and peers.
- Is accountable for the performance and results of a team.
- Adapts plans and priorities to address resource and operations challenges.
Education & Experience
- Bachelorâs Degree required in finance economics or accounting; CPA is preferred.
- 5-7 yearâs relevant experience required.
- Public accounting work experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computerÂ
- May require travel up to 10
