As we continue to grow and evolve we are seeking a passionate and experienced Grain Quality Specialist at our Overland Park KS office.

 

This position is responsible for managing quality assurance/quality control and food safety processes ensuring that all products meet regulatory standards and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with commodities such as corn and wheat and quality control with a passion for maintaining excellence in grain quality and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly impact the success of our operations and the satisfaction of our clients.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts related to monitoring and analyzing facility statistical data investigate issues identify abnormalities or trends; develop areas for improvement to optimize the food safety processes and maximize production
  • Act as technical resource and liaison between departments. Identify address and resolve issues. Recommend improvements to productivity quality and efficiency.
  • Optimize and oversee the laboratory to ensure efficiency and compliance. Identify and develop areas of continuous improvement and make recommendations for capital planning.
  • Manage and implement laboratory and food safety training programs ensure all activities associated with documentation recordkeeping related to laboratory and food safety processes and operations are performed according to SOP and meet all associated regulatory requirements.
  • Select develop train and evaluate performance of team members to ensure achievement of location group company goals and objectives.

  • Maintain a good working knowledge and adherence to all food safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform all tasks in a fashion that promotes the safety and quality of our products.
  • Actively participate in all required food safety and quality related meetings and training events.
  • Ensure employees are fully aware food safety related concerns and requirements.
  • Take necessary corrective/preventative action steps to reduce or eliminate food safety risks.

  • Is accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operations challenges
  • Decisions are guided by policies procedures and business plan; receives guidance from senior manager
  • Provides technical guidance to employees colleagues and/or customers

 

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required Bachelorâs Degree required
  • 5-7 yearsâ relevant experience required
