Position Overview
This position is responsible for further building and maintaining the companyâs Department of Transportation DOT driversâ records and ensuring that all required vehicle maintenance records are properly maintained. The position will also be responsible for leading the management of Environmental Health & Safety initiatives at assigned locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain all Driver Qualification files and other appropriate records for all DOT regulated employees including pre-employment drug screen results and valid Medical Cards
- Ensure compliance with all federal state and local DOT and other transportation related regulations
- Monitor and assist in enforcement of pre- and post-hire DOT and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration FMCSA regulations
- Perform and document regular audits to ensure full DOT compliance making corrections as needed and maintain maintenance records for DOT Audits
- Process and manage all driver accident claims
- Lead locations in Significant Injury and Fatality SIF Life Critical Policies and catastrophic risk reduction by providing training and education coaching and mentoring
- Develop measures/metrics and collect data to analyze trends/gaps and drive EHS performance.
- Provides gap analysis between corporate and business unit EHS practices and guide the development of business EHS policies and procedures to align with corporate strategy.
- Ensure all facilities are managed with EHS support by maintaining conscious awareness through regional EHS model.
- Ensure operations activities incorporate all necessary auditing monitoring reporting and inspections to comply with standard

Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelorâs Degree required Degree in EHS or Safety Field preferred
- 5-10 yearsâ relevant experience required
- Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA Employment Guidelines with 1-3 yearsâ relevant program experience required
- Possess a Commercial Driverâs License CDL or willing to obtain within the first 18 months of employment
