As the Production Engineer you will be proficient in Identifying production bottlenecks, safety issues, and cost savings opportunities for the Multi-Purpose Facility. Develop solutions for ongoing production challenges to meet production targets for supply chain. Support environmental reporting requirements. Serve as a technical resource for training, including reviewing SOP and leading classroom training. Coordinate the safe introduction of new processes and projects into the MPF production unit.
Support daily production activities for the MPF unit.
Track product quality and take necessary actions to ensure that specifications are met.
Identify and pursue opportunities for process optimization.
Influence and implement HS&E improvements and ensuring that all activities satisfy the requirements of Syngenta standards including site Management of Change and Risk Assessment procedures.
Ensure proper review and documentation of process and changes for operational, safety and environmental impact.
Provide process engineering support for the chemical process area as technical expert, applying a combination of theoretical and applied knowledge to in order to help resolve challenges.
Track support and deliver unit ERP commitments (production planning, inventory and production accuracy, BOMs, cost sheets, etc.).
Generate our RMP and SARA reports and update waste data sheets for environmental group.
Assist Environmental group in MPF air permit review and updates.
Develop and present technician training programs.
Coordinate startup activities to insure mechanical functionality and safety.
Resolve environmental and safety recommendations from 3rd party and internal audits and reviews.
Provide high quality practical advice /judgements to others (including outside direct area of responsibility) by applying scientific method, theoretical knowledge and broad experience of similar situations.
Manage day to day expectations of stakeholders.
Coordinate new product introductions into the MPF unit.
B.S. Chemical Engineering with 3+ years experience in chemical process design or production. Knowledge of process safety, environmental regulation and programs. Understanding of safety, environmental and economic issues associated with the operation of a chemical plant.
Successfully communicate with various functions Supply Chain, SH&E, Process Technology, Plant Engineering, Quality Control, operations personnel.
Ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, ability to lead and facilitate meetings.
Ability to supervise non-exempt or junior staff members as a project team leader.
Manufacturing experience in a highly complex chemical production facility.
SAP experience preferred.
Participation in risk assessments
Working experience with PSM covered process.
