As the Head of Technical Training, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of an impactful interactive technical training strategy for key internal and external stakeholders including agronomy personnel, sales reps and customers. You will execute this strategy utilizing a full range of instructional methods (classroom & in-field facilitation, simulations, role-plays, video, on-line learning, etc.). The goals of this training include building internal confidence and excitement with our technology, improving delivery of our story with the customer and improving business results.
In this role, you will also has dotted line responsibility for providing guidance to the Key Account Agronomy group and maintaining close alignment with the Key Account Manages and other teams throughout the U.S. Commercial organization. Additionally, you will be part of the Agronomy and Technical Services Leadership teams and will be responsible for setting direction and developing robust agronomic initiatives (including emerging digital agronomy) that are aligned with Syngentas short, mid and longer-term business strategy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Actively manage Technical Training team to lead training and agronomic support for internal and external customers
Work across the organization to identify and proactively design, develop and implement technical training options that address key and emerging business needs
Establish a close working relationship with Field Force Effectiveness & Training team (FFE&T), and Learning & Development to co-develop a commercial training culture, align technical training with FFET initiatives, and up-skill Agronomy Trainers
Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and develop a permanent and robust training library
Co-create technical onboarding plans for Technical Services personnel, Developmental Sales Reps and Sales Representatives
Lead Syngenta Campus initiatives that serve to provide basic technical and agronomic training to both internal and external audiences
Education & Experience:
Masters or PhD, with significant background and/or education in crop agronomy or related field
A minimum of 7 years of experience working in the agriculture industry
A minimum of 4 years of experience designing and delivering training programs utilizing instructional methods that yield results by design
Solid understanding of the application of crop agronomics and technologies that are the financial drivers of a growers business
Experience in a coaching and/or people development role
