Salary: $18.34 hourly / 40- 44 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Shift, Day, Weekend, Overtime may be required

Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots, Broiler and other meat-type chicken production, Chicken farming, Hog and pig farming, Layer poultry farming, Livestock combination farming, Organic farming, Other miscellaneous animal farming, Other poultry farming, Outdoors, Turkey farming, Dusty, Noisy, Odours, Cold/refrigerated, Livestock, Poultry and egg production, Dirty

Equipment and machinery experience: Tractor, Farm truck

Job Duties

• Handling animals
• Feed and tend animals
• Marking livestock as proof of ownership
• Monitoring animal health
• Treat livestock health issues
• Monitor the calving process
• Perform livestock feeding
• Track and report on current feed inventory
• Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration
• Weaning
• Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops
• Maintain livestock performance records
• Maintain quality control and production records
• Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens
• Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses
• Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• Harvest crops
• Perform general farm duties
