Job Description:

Job Summary

The Shipping & Processing Professional, under the direction of the Plant Manager, will primarily be responsible to managing timelines of the incoming and outgoing shipping and processing lines. This position will responsible for the management of packaging equipment, inclusive of bulk packaging equipment. This role will also operate and maintenance of packaging and processing equipment.

 

 

Job Duties

  • Managing timelines of the incoming and outgoing shipping and processing lines
  • Responsible for the management of packaging equipment, inclusive of bulk packaging equipment
  • Operate and maintenance of packaging equipment
  • Unloading and receiving of bulk seed and feed
  • Loading and shipping of seed and feed
  • Warehouse inventory management
  • Quality control management when required
  • Documentation of inbound and outbound grain
  • Maintenance of shipping records
  • Management of packing information i.e. tags
  • Customer service - in person and phone
  • Monthly, weekly, daily cleanup and maintenance, this may include the scale area, empty dust bins, sweeping, empty garbage when required, and moving plant equipment, and any shut down procedures. Inspect yard at end of day and lock gate. The list is not limited to the items noted .
  • Grain cleaning scheduling when required
  • Grain cleaning and treatment this includes setting machines and adjustments of machines when needed, screen cleaning, chemical application
  • Grain cleaning for customers and exports can include bagging
  • Grain checks
  • Probe incoming grain, take stream samples, and documentation i.e. scale tickets, grain receipts
  • Grain management - transfer grain from inside to outside or elsewhere when required
  • Bulk head construction when required
  • Live loads
  • Inspect and maintenance of compressors
  • Ordering parts and supplies
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with other team members in order to achieve the tasks outlined
  • Attend and contribute to weekly Team Meetings
  • Participation and upholding of company safety meetings, policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required by the company

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to hazards associated with the industry, dust, loud noises and odours from grain, fumes from chemicals and environmental elements
  • Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and possible holidays
  • Extended periods of stooping, bending, lifting, throwing and kneeling
  • Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 50 kilograms
  • Working in an environment subject to frequent temperature changes. Duties overlap indoor and outdoor work areas
  • Climbing of heights required time to time approximately 80'
  • Working with deadlines and fast paced dependent of the season
