Work schedule: Monday to Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm (40 hours/week) / Be able to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call as needed

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Feed Mill Maintenance Technician to join our operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all feed mill equipment and systems through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and experience in an industrial or agricultural setting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on feed mill equipment including conveyors, mixers, pellet mills, grinders, and bagging systems;
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems;
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime;
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs;
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment;
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies;
  • Collaborate with production staff to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption;
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies;
  • Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school preferred;
  • Maintenance experience in a feed mill, grain handling, or industrial facility is an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, welding, fabrication, and basic electrical troubleshooting;
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics;
  • Familiarity with PLCs and automated control systems is an asset;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call as needed.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
  • Comfortable working in dusty, noisy, and hot/cold environments;
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
