Job Description:

Location: Guelph, Ontario

Work mode: Teleworker, regular travel within a specific geographic region is required

Work schedule: 8:30 am to 5 pm (37.5 hours/week) – (Must be flexible with the schedule) 

Status: Temporary, Full-time, Temporary (13 months contract)

YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will play a key role on the Sales team demonstrating a solid background in agricultural retail and wholesale sales and marketing, coupled with a strong business acumen.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable to grow wholesale fertilizer sales, maintaining strong margins within a specified territory and ensuring that customer accounts are in good standing;
  • Grow and nurture strong customer and prospect relations to foster business opportunities;
  • Communicate regularly with key accounts reviewing sales volumes and updating forecasts;
  • Identify customer issues, prospects and concerns and develop solutions in a team focused manner;
  • Gather market intelligence identifying threats and competitive issues affecting our business;
  • Evaluate, explore and recommend new business opportunities, products and services that provide a positive return, strengthening our relationship with our customer base;
  • Represent the company at industry meetings and associations.

 

Your Assets

  • You must have a post-secondary university education in Agribusiness;
  • You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer facing, agricultural role;
  • You have a comprehensive understanding of the agricultural retail business environment;
  • You are team-oriented and deadline driven;
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to prioritize and work independently;
  • You have excellent computer skills including competency in Microsoft Office.
