Accounting & Production Coordinator

Department: G&A / Production


Summary: This hybrid role supports both the accounting and production operations of the company, combining administrative, financial, and marketing responsibilities. The role is vital for maintaining accurate records, supporting field and internal teams, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across departments.

 

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of sesame production while developing a fulfilling career in the agriculture industry.

 

Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Controller

 

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Administrative Support

  • Manage accounts payable, including invoice approvals, data entry, and payment processing.
  • Prepare journal entries for month-end closing and assist with year-end financial audits.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and company credit card transactions.
  • Preparing AP and AR aging reports and reconciling to the main company's ledger
  • Monitoring bank transactions and preparing bank reconciliations
  • Assist with 1099 preparations
  • Maintain organized records and support document filing, data input, and reporting across all divisions.

 

Production & Operations Support

  • Assist Field Tech Representatives with daily operations, data collection, and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain records for planting seed contracts and contracted acreage using Salesforce.
  • Upload relevant production documents (e.g., weight tickets) and ensure accuracy in reporting systems.
  • Support internal teams with scheduling, clerical duties, and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Manage and review Marketing Agreements.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4-year College) required. A background in agronomy or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, administration, or agriculture-related roles.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and other relevant software.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and tools (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and analytics software).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with farmers, dealers, and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
