Seneca Foods Corporation is currently looking for a qualified and energetic Shift Operations Supervisor to work at one of our food processing/manufacturing facilities located in Cambria-West, Wisconsin.


Responsibilities:
  • Direct employees to work toward operational goals.
  • Direct and supervise a full-time maintenance team.
  • Direct and supervise all processes to produce products that meet specifications.
  • Direct and supervise the accurate completion of all departmental records.
  • Ensure the safety of all employees.
  • Train all employees to complete their job in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Supervise, lead and coordinate the activities of a production department or function to achieve company goals.
  • Make decisions regarding product quality, employee relations and equipment breakdowns.
  • Assist in developing plant budgets and daily production plans.
  • Complete daily production requirements in a cost effective manner which meet or exceed all food safety, good manufacturing practice and employee safety expectations.
  • Ensure that all employees are adequately trained to perform assigned job.
  • Develop/execute daily production plan which effectively utilizes all materials.
  • Encourage actions to promote teamwork, continuous improvement and focus on Company goals.
  • Coordinate activities between departments to ensure proper receipt and storage of supplies.
  • Ensure that GMPs (General manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed and enforced.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 3 to 5 years of experience in food processing as a supervisor or lead person.
  • Certified or able to become certified in Better Process Control School, Thermal Processing and Container Closure.
  • Knowledge of raw product preparation, packaging, thermal processes and maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Know required procedures (FDA, USDA, OSHA, AIB, GMP).
  • Must have good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Working conditions require frequent walking and standing in wet/humid conditions.
  • Personal Protective Equipment is required.
