Seneca Foods Corporation in Dayton, WA has an opening for a Full-time Seed Technician to join our Research and Development program. Seneca Foods offers an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, paid time off, and much more!

The Full-time Seed Technician, under the direction of the R & D Seed Tech Lead, will gain team-based industry experience working with pea and bean breeding programs. The expected compensation range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending upon skills & experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Grow and care for plants in the field.
  • Assist with Irrigation throughout the growing season.
  • Weeding as needed within the trial plots and research property.
  • Assist with field trial maintenance and harvest.
  • Data collection, data entry, and data evaluation.
  • Quality control.
  • Seed Cleaning/Packaging.
  • Seed inventory management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Ability and willingness to function in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to the smallest detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to follow proper research procedures.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and various shifts throughout seasonal peaks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in the elements including dust and heat throughout harvest months.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis throughout the year.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Background in Agriculture preferred.

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
  • Two to five years of experience inagricultural production or ag research field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
