Responsibilities and Qualifications:
As a QC technician, your responsibilities will be to follow established policies and procedures. The position is responsible for the testing and evaluation of products at different stages of the production process to determine and maintain quality and consistency of our products. No experience necessary andFood Sciencestudents are encouraged to apply.
Job functions include basic microbiological quality and general lab work, including plating (Petri-film), media preparation, environmental sample collection, enrichments, autoclaving and dish washing. The position will also assist in specialized testing, including, PCR, RT-PCR, LAMP and ELISA as needed. Excuting and maintaining laboratory quality control is critical of the position. Applicants must be familar and proficient with aseptic technique. Candidates must also be motivated. detail-oriented, mechanically and technically inclined, independant and have ability to multi-task. Must have good communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
Good communication skills.
Basic computer and mathematical skills.
Working knowledge of basic measuring devices and machines.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to work extended hours during our peak season.
Ability to work weekends when needed.

Physical Requirments:
Ability to lift 25-30 lbs, including up-stairs
Standing for extended period of time
Using hands for extended periods of time
Walking throughout the lab and production environment
Bending and kneeling
Biohazards:
Involves working with potential class II agents.
Workers are trained on aseptic technique, Good Laboratory Practices and handling and treating potentially biohazardous materials
