Job Overview:
As a Production Blancher/Brine Operator at Seneca Foods, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing plant's production process, specifically in the preparation of beans for canning. This position requires proficiency in both blanching and brining operations, where you will operate and oversee the equipment to ensure not only optimal quality but also efficiency in both the blanching and brining phases. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, able to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision. Additionally, they should be self-motivated and trustworthy, seeking long-term employment with opportunities for growth.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Blanching Operations
Operate and monitor blanching equipment to ensure beans are processed according to production standards.Set and adjust equipment controls to regulate factors such as water temperature, blanching time, and steam pressure.
Brining Preparation
Prepare brine solutions according to established recipes and specifications.Monitor brine concentration and adjust as needed to maintain product consistency.Handle and store brining ingredients safely.
Equipment Operation
Operate and maintain blanching and brining equipment.Conduct routine inspections and contact Maintenance for repairs, as necessary.
Record Keeping
Maintain accurate records of blanching and brining processes.Document equipment operation parameters and any adjustments made.Assist in inventory management of raw materials related to blanching and brining.
Collaboration
Work collaboratively with other production team members to ensure a smooth transition of beans from blanching to the next phase of the production process.Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and maintain production flow.
Adherence to Safety Standards
Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.Identify and report any safety concerns or issues promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience as a Blancher/Brine Operator in a food processing environment is preferred.Knowledge of blanching and bringing equipment and processes.Understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards.Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation and troubleshooting.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.Physical fitness to handle repetitive tasks, lifting moderate loads, and standing for extended periods.
Adaptability and Work Ethic
Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.Commitment to safe behavior.Strong attention to details.Demonstrated positive approach to job tasks, including excellent punctuality and attendance.Takes the initiative, proactively seeking opportunities to improve processes and to keep busy.Values accountability and strives for continual self-improvement.

Work Schedule and Grade
Availability for a Monday Friday shift from 5:54 pm 6:00 am with additional overtime as needed based on production and customer requirements. This is a grade 3 position.
