Seneca Foods Corporations Glencoe, MN facility is currently seeking a Full Time Field Representative to join our team. In Glencoe, we do it all! We have a full-time Labeling department, Frozen Corn on the Cob Packaging department, Field Reps to meet with local growers, and many Mechanics who make it possible to run a successful production! The Glencoe facility focuses on primarily Canning and Freezing, Peas, Lima Beans, Sweet Corn and Carrots. Our Peak Production season typically starts mid-June and wraps up mid-November. Procure raw product from a grower-based operation that meets objective standards. Responsible for contracting, planting, and harvesting pea and sweet corn acreage in a defined growing location.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a plan to contract crop acres
Issue seed, plant, survey for weeds and other pests, stake fields, sample crops, procure labor and equipment
Supervise harvest of peas and sweet corn acreage, and maintain accurate records
Encourage good grower and community relations
Ensure that GMPs (General manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations are being followed and enforced
Cross training with other departments as opportunities arise
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Four-year degree in Agriculture or related field or equivalent experience
Must be knowledgeable in all general agriculture areas
Must demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills; a high work ethic and leadership/supervisory skills; written and oral communication skills
Starting wage range based on skills, abilities, and experience from $62 to $72k.
