The Sustainability Analyst is responsible for measurement, insights, and voluntary disclosure reporting for Scoular’s Sustainability Program.  The position will drive the long-term integration of people, process, and technology solutions, enabling Scoular to track performance KPIs and develop formal action plans to reduce its environmental footprint. The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving the environmental footprint of food, feed, and other agricultural commodities. They must be comfortable in managing complex and multi-faceted projects that involve data, analyses, and change management.


 


Essential Functions 



  • Support Scoular’s annual sustainability report and ESG data sheets– in line with reporting frameworks, including metrics, alignment, and reporting process to meet publication timeline and content goals.

  • Manage and develop content for publicly facing sustainability communications by collecting and consolidating ESG metrics, standards adherence (GRI, SASB, TCFD, SBTi), and writing content that communicates company performance.

  • Develop greenhouse gas (GHG) / carbon emissions inventories, water footprints, waste footprints and other environmental inventories including data analysis, emission factor development, calculation methodology, and environmental reporting activities

  • Interpret rating methodologies (e.g., CDP, DJSI, MSCI, Sustainalytics) submissions and identify opportunities for score improvement

  • Identify opportunities to automate metrics to improve data quality and reporting abilities. Utilize environmental reporting systems and analytics tools to automate metrics via reports, dashboards.

  • Benchmark best practices vs. peers, collaborate with teams to develop a value and risk driven approach to climate risk analysis.

  • Perform rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis of empirical data with particular focus on life-cycle analysis (LCA) for environmental data such as carbon, water and waste including

  • Respond to customer measurement request and support the development of tools, calculators, scenario analyses, and footprint allocation.

  • Develop action plans with defined objectives, targets and responsibilities to achieve sustainability goals and commitments. Ensure appropriate internal controls and measurement systems are in place to support sustainability efforts, including data gathering and analysis.

Requirements

Minimum 



  • Bachelor's degree in business, statistics, data science, environmental science, sustainability, or another related field.

  • 3 years of related professional experience in corporate sustainability, or in an ESG focused role (finance, operations, consulting).

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including developing and editing written materials.

  • Working knowledge of key ESG-related standards and reporting frameworks including GHG Protocol, SASB, GRI, UNGC, CDP and TCFD.

  • General familiarity with a range of approaches to target setting including science-based targets.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex projects.

  • Analytical self-starter with strong attention to detail.

  • Significant experience with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.


Preferred 



  • 5 years of related professional experience in corporate sustainability, or in an ESG focused role (finance, operations, consulting).

  • Expert knowledge of key ESG-related standards and reporting frameworks including GRI, UNGC, CDP and TCFD.

  • Working knowledge of PowerBI or Tableau.
