Position Overview:


The Facility Engineering Lead will assist the facility engineering team with inspections, construction, maintenance repairs, project proposals, facility capital expenditure support, environmental permits, and site layouts which includes construction and fabrication work. This position works under moderate supervision and will provide facilities management planning and oversight of short and long-term facilities projects.


 


Job Responsibilities:


Project Management:



  • Assists team in developing plans, project proposals, specifications, estimates, reports, and related documents in compliance with laws and standards; makes recommendations for improvement.

  • Partner with facility management teams to coordinate support and scheduling throughout project completion.

  • Conducts engineering field work, such as surveying, inspecting, drafting, design, data analytics and site layout.

  • Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.

  • Assist with inspections of contractors and operators for compliance with the state specific laws, environmental permits, and specifications.


Safety/Environmental:



  • Drive Employee safety/environmental agenda and improvement.

  • Adhere to state and local and environmental building regulations


Support Facility Operations:



  • Work closely facility operations and facility management teams to support asset locations with ongoing project needs.

  • Complete project work in a timely manner.

  • Facility trouble shooting; work closely with asset locations to address maintenance needs proactively and minimize breakdowns. Assist with year-end inventory audit process.

  • Supervise and assist contractor teams in daily activity.  Responsible for scheduling teams to meet work demands.  Partner with manager to source reliable skilled labor.

Requirements

Minimum:



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Demonstrated experience managing or operating a grain elevator, cleaning plant, mill or ag commodity processing facility.

  • Highly skilled in independent problem-solving techniques.

  • Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.

  • Willingness to work at various heights, in confined spaces and in inclement weather.

  • Demonstrated agility to navigate change and proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to travel up to 70% to meet business needs, requiring overnight stays.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills.


Preferred:



  • 2 years of supervisor experience with grain/processing equipment background preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Proficient in the use of a computer and computer aided design equipment.
