Summary Description: Manage dairy herd, barn crew and dairy facility.
- Starting Salary: Dependent on Experience

Duties:
All aspects of herd health including: breeding, calving, vaccinations, hoof health, timely record keeping , maintaining/enforcing protocols etc. Maintain dairy facility upkeep, cleanliness and appearance. Being bi-lingual in Spanish and English would be beneficial.
Supervised by: Herd Manager
Qualifications:
Skills: All skill sets relative to dairy animal welfare, including but not limited to: artificial insemination, sire selection, detection and diagnosis of ill animals, working with vet, IV’s, use of PC Dart for records, maintenance of milking equipment etc.
Work environment: Milking facility including milking parlor, hospital area and maternity area; in two barns growing to 600 cows total. Calf barn is located on the same site with heifer facilities located a half mile from the site.
Goals of Dairy: Maintain 105 pounds/day of energy corrected milk on average, maintain SCC below 100,000, score 100 on federal survey, score 100 on animal welfare audit, maintain a strong team unit, strict adherence of protocols.
