Sales Manager: Southwestern-Central Ontario Based


Royal Brinkman Canada Inc. is a subsidiary of Royal Brinkman International, a 137-year-old company based in the Netherlands that is a leading supplier to the professional greenhouse horticulture sector. This family-owned organization is dedicated to creating a better and sustainable future for the entrepreneur in protected horticulture.


We are looking for an experienced management professional to lead and grow the sales at Royal Brinkman Canada.


In this role you will:

  • Develop the overall company sales budget.
  • Work with the individual account managers to develop and execute individual sales plans with the goal of delivering the target revenue and margin reflected in the company’s commercial plan.
  • Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction.


Duties of successful candidate include:

  • Work with business director to establish short-term and long-term sales goals for the company.
  • Develop and execute long-term and short-term sales plans to meet sales objectives.
  • Lead the sales team to develop their personal skills to be able to succeed in their individual roles and as a team to achieve their goals.
  • Work with individual members of the sales team to assist them to formulate and execute sales plans that will provide the detailed framework to deliver the expected corporate sales revenue.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to meet common overall company goals.



  • Must understand and conduct a customer-oriented sales approach and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Must be performance motivated and extract their own full potential and the potential of those around them.
  • Must have knowledge of the market and general product knowledge.
  • Must have good business acumen and the ability to conduct complex sales interviews, independently discover sales opportunities, and translate these into sales results.
  • Must understand the clients’ businesses and develop innovative strategies to promote products and services to meet the unique challenges of each client.
  • Understand and employ a consultative sales approach that focuses on improving customer profitability while delivering the required corporate sales revenue.
  • The ideal candidate should be well organized and highly proficient with the modern technology used to manage customer data (CRM) and drive sales (webstore, social media). 


Experience & Skills:

  • University or College education majoring in business, horticulture, or science.
  • Leadership training and 3-5 years’ experience in management and sales roles.
  • Horticultural, greenhouse or on farm experience and market knowledge are an asset.
  • Complete proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, diplomacy, and good work ethic.
  • Candidate needs to be courteous, patient and an enthusiastic team player; self-motivated, with the ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
  • Experience working with a CRM and social media.
