District Sales Manager
Reports to: NDSD Regional Sales Manager
Candidate should be located within the region.
ROLE PURPOSE
- This Direct Sales Managers (DSM) position is with Rob-See-Co, a company based out of Elkhorn, NE. The territory for this position includes Eastern South Dakota - Mitchell, SD and the ideal candidate for this role should be located in the surrounding sales area.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Full responsibility for this DSM role includes:
- Achieving Territory business goals including crop unit goals, product mix, Streamline Ag seed driven crop input goals, new customer development, and strategic market development.
- Completing and executing a territory business plan in concert with company direction and long-term strategy.
- Providing leadership to Distributors/Dealers representing Rob-See-Co products, programs, and company strategy.
- Managing Territory requirements including product stewardship, customer service and financial administration.
- Build a reputation with customers, and prospects that promotes long term relationships while supporting the Rob-See-Co strategy.
- Responsible for recruiting new Distributors/Dealers
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness both on and off the job for oneself and others around.

Critical Knowledge:
- Knowledge of and ability to effectively communicate sales programs and interpret data.
- Knowledge of and ability to skillfully develop and execute sales presentations.
- Knowledge of and ability to skillfully apply sales, service, and agronomic technical skills at an exceptional level.

- Ability to lift 60 pounds if necessary (a bag of seed)

- Ability to pass a background check, substance abuse test and driving record background check (i.e., moving violations, accidents, license suspension, etc.
Critical Experience:
- 2+ years of sales experience.
- B.S., or equivalent, in agronomy, agriculture, business, marketing or a related field required.
- Seed business experience would be beneficial.
Other Behaviors Critical for the role:
- Manage to and operate within a budget that will include revenue generation, account management and forecasting.
- Self-starter and independently motivated on a daily basis.
- Perform all role related tasks in a safe manner according to Rob-See-Co’s policy and procedures.
- Creativity and innovation competency while maintaining cutting edge knowledge of the Ag industry.
CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS AND KEY CHALLENGES
- Success will be directly measured against annual Territory business plan and the sales progress made towards the yearly goals set for this position. Contributions made both through revenue generation and agronomic recommendations that directly impact the ability to achieve annual profit goals will also be critical.
- This position must have exceptional communicative skills and ability to recruit Dealers, Distributors, and large growers within Territory.

Working Conditions:
- This position will be primarily travel within a specified region that should require some overnight travel.
