ROLE PURPOSE

This District Sales Managers (DSM) role is designed for a highly experienced sales and agribusiness professional with a deep understanding of agronomy, the inputs farmers use, and how profits are generated from growing the crops within the territory.

 

The DSM will be sincerely interested in helping farmers along with network of Dealers/Distributors to improve production practices, create value while identifying savings and/or new sources of meaningful income by actively developing the business's seed and crop-driven input division. 

 

The DSM will have deep experience in US agriculture and a clear understanding of operating directly with growers and sellers in a highly competitive environment committed to annual growth.

                                                                                                                                                           

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Aggressively execute sales activity to meet annual revenue and product mix targets through a book of customers and prospects that the Sales Representative personally drives with a commitment to daily call activity and quarterly sales outcomes.
  • Actively target, recruit, service, and secure new dealers, distributors, and direct farm customers in a manner that is aligned with company growth and profitability objectives.
  • Manage and grow existing Rob-See-Co business in the territory. Actively leverage the Rob-See-Co marketing and demand creation team to improve the profitability of the product mix sold and increase targeted and productive call activity.
  • Ensure that all Direct Customers, Dealers, and Distributors correctly enter orders; work with your Rob-See-Co Customer Care Representative to make sure all billing is accurate, manage account receivables in accordance of Rob-See-Co terms and programs, and all customers in the region get a best-in-class experience.
  • Lead both Rob-See-Co seed and Streamline Ag sales presentations to Dealers, Distributors, and Farmer customers to promote the sale of assigned portfolio of products.
  • Managed territory requirements, including product stewardship, customer service, and financial administration.
  • Build a reputation with customers and prospects that promotes long-term relationships while supporting the Rob-See-Co strategy.
  • Foster a positive working environment through communication and cooperation with co-workers and direct manager directed to achieve overall team goals.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness both on and off the job for oneself and others around.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of sales experience working in the agribusiness/crop input industry
  • Seed business experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Biologicals and Nutritional’s in row crop.
  • B.S., or equivalent, in agronomy, agriculture, business, marketing or a related field required.

  • Success is measured by the level to which a competitive portfolio is delivered to our customers by a sales team that is properly prepared to professionally represent our products, as well as company profitability insofar as it can be influenced by excellent product lifecycle and inventory management.
  • This position requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to recruit dealers, distributors, and large growers within the territory.

Working Conditions:

  • This position will be primarily travel within a specified region that should require some overnight travel.
  • Candidate will need to schedule appropriate time for office, planning and recruiting which likely will be required outside of a normal 8-5 workday.
