Job Description:
Since 1870, we've been making malted barley for brewers and distillers all over the world from our home maltings in Norfolk, England. Today, we continue that work in 4 countries, across 7 maltings with a specific emphasis on supplying distilleries and craft breweries. We currently have an opportunity for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineering Apprentice at our Great Ryburgh location.
This will be a permanent contract with the role starting in August 2025 and the apprenticeship course starting in September.
The apprenticeship will be Level 3 Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician (MOET). You will be expected to attend our training provider Reagit in Norwich, where you will spend your first 100 days (20wks) followed by 72 weeks attending the provider 1 day a week and all other aspects of your training will be delivered on site, with regular site visits from your designated apprenticeship assessor.
This role supports our engineering team with general duties on site as well as learning a well-recognised qualification. As an apprentice within our maintenance engineering department, you will receive good all-around training in both mechanical and electrical engineering practices.
If you’re interested in how things work, have a logical way of working and want to learn and develop in a hands-on role, this scheme is for you. You don’t need to be an expert engineer before you join, as we will support you all the way.

Due to the requirement of work across the site, applicants will need to be 18+ by September 1st, 2025, and ideally have 5 GSCE’s at grade 4 (C) plus, including Maths at grade 4 or above, English and a Science OR A Level 2 engineering qualification with English and Maths functional skills.
A Full UK driving licence would be preferable, although not essential, as you must be able to transport to and from the workplace and to our training provider in Norwich to study towards your apprenticeship.
Please note that the role is very demanding both physically and mentally, and there will be a requirement to work shifts by the end of the apprenticeship.
