Job Description:

Since 1870 we've been making malted barley for brewers and distillers all over the world from our home maltings in Norfolk, England. Today, we continue that work in 4 countries, across 7 maltings with a specific emphasis on supplying distilleries and craft breweries. In 2023, Richardson International Limited successfully acquired Crisp Malt, welcoming all our employees into its wider group of companies across Canada, the US, and Europe.

We currently have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician at our Great Ryburgh location.
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct laboratory analyses according to written methods, ensuring high accuracy and understanding of test methodologies. 
  • Report results promptly and compile quality data as needed. 
  • Document results in required formats (paper, computer, LIMS, etc.) and maintain accurate records. 
  • Keep instruments and equipment clean and in working order; report any issues to the Laboratory Manager. 
  • Maintain a clean and organised working area to meet high hygiene standards. 
  • Monitor stock levels of consumables and chemicals, reporting shortages to the Laboratory Manager. 
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, reporting hazards and incidents to improve laboratory and site safety. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • School-level science education with an understanding of safe chemical use. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. 
  • Timely and efficient work habits, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently. 
  • Proficient in using computer-based operating systems. 
  • Strong communication skills for building effective working relationships and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
