Job Description:

We currently have an opportunity for an Industrial Electrician at our Richardson Port Terminal located in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Tradesman - Electrician will provide journeyman level skill for the repair and maintenance of plant equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
 

Responsibilities:

• Installs, modifies, repairs and maintains electrical circuits, devices and equipment
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses electrical and control equipment
• Participates in training related to this position
• Operates in accordance with health, safety, and fire prevention regulations and practices
• Provides assistance to other Maintenance team members
• Responds to after-hours emergency calls on a rotational basis

Qualifications:

Requirements

• Electrician ticket
• Journeyman Electrician Certificate
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Electrician in a heavy industrial environment
• Strong skills in reading and interpretation of electrical schematics/logic drawings
• Knowledge of automated systems and suppliers
• Must be capable of lifting and stacking 50 lbs without assistance
• Demonstrated organizational skills and personal initiative
• Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient computer skills, e.g. MS Word/Excel, etc
• Strong work ethic and a proven safety record
• Ability to work in conditions such as confined spaces, heights, dust, and temperature extremes
• Ability to work shift work, scheduled shutdowns and respond to Emergency Call-Ins

Asset

• Diploma of Technology
• Strong IT background
• Networking experience (Ethernet, Profibus and Modbus)
• Programming experience (Allen-Bradley- RS Logix)
• Any other mechanical trades, fabricator would be considered an asset
