ABOUT US
Results Driven Agriculture Research (RDAR) is a producer-led research organization with the mandate to guide Alberta's agriculture research priorities to ensure they reflect the needs of farmers, ranchers, and others in the agriculture industry.
In February 2022, RDAR was name as one of 12 national delivery partners for the On Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF). This is a federally-funded program focused on helping producers tackle climate change.
JOB SUMMARY
The OFCAF Technical Lead is responsible for providing insight and review of nitrogen management, cover cropping, and rotational grazing farm application review, processing and audits. The Technical Lead will bring expertise and experience with program implementation to RDAR's OFCAF programs.
Within this role, the OFCAF Technical Lead ensures the ongoing engagement with the OFCAF team and program manager to ensure continual improvement and efficiency in getting OFCAF projects implemented in Alberta.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate OFCAF farm applications and provide funding recommendations based on program guidelines and ability to deliver practical outcomes for Alberta's producers.
- Provide rigour to RDAR's investments by contributing technical expertise and understanding of on farm implementation to ensure that the project plan, techniques and costs are appropriate for achieving the intended results.
- Ensure OFCAF is collecting and reporting on the outcomes of the program as identified in the OFCAF workplan.
- Engage regularly with other OFCAF team members to ensure efficiency and transparency on what changes to the application process might be needed.
- Compile and manage data on program evaluation, audits and performance measures.
- Regular communication and updates to the OFCAF Program manager on program commitments, gaps and opportunities, success stories and impact on Alberta’s landscapes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., agronomy, forages, soil science).
- 5 years of experience delivering programs or dealing directly with program delivery.
- Ability to adapt information and terminology to meet stakeholder needs and understanding.
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic.
- You have a proven ability to develop credible relationships with diverse interest groups.
POSITION DETAILS
- Full-time, term position (to program term June 30, 2024 with a possibility of extension)
- 37.5 hours / week, 5 days / week.
- Office location 201, 6074 Andrews Way SW in Edmonton.
- Flexible working arrangement – virtual or hybrid option available.
- Competitive salary and benefits package. Salary to be set based on experience.
- Travel required. Valid Class 5 Drivers License a requirement.
