PigCHAMP is looking for a Sales and Customer Care Specialist to join our team.
PigCHAMP serves pork producers and industry professionals in more than 48 countries around the world. PigCHAMP has always been and will always be at the frontier of knowledge management in the swine industry. The "CHAMP" in PigCHAMP is actually an acronym for "Computerized Health and Management Program”.
The Sales and Customer Care Specialist will work directly with customers at all points during the sales cycle, to facilitate a positive and productive long-term relationship.
You will be responsible for selling company products and services by identifying new leads through your own initiative, preparing proposals, attending industry events, educating prospects through face-to-face meeting, calls, training sessions, and presentations. The Sales and Customer Care Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing sales educational workshops, webinars, videos, etc.
You will maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects via cold calls, meetings, and presentations to generate new sales.
As the primary sales representative, you will also be responsible for generating additional revenue by building relationships and cross-selling products and services to existing PigCHAMP clients.
It will be important for you to know the PigCHAMP software like the back of your hand. You will work with clients to answer complex questions and carry out resolutions pertaining to the installation and setup of the PigCHAMP software, you will also be able to respond to questions about competitor software.
When you win a customer from a competitor, you will be responsible for executing competitor conversions and providing clients with overall function and usage of all PigCHAMP products and its dependencies via various communication tools and/or in-person service.
You will also be responsible for communicating with customers with regards to any account problems, discusses customer concerns and suggestions.
As a Sales and Customer Care Specialist you will help PigCHAMP continue to grow by improving our sales processes and productivity. Sales are the biggest driver of our company's success, so your position plays a crucial role as part of the
PigCHAMP team.
As part of these responsibilities, you will set customer objectives and KPIs.
You will track all sales and customer service activity within the company CRM system from initial opportunity through client customer satisfaction for statistical purposes.
Because of your close working relationship with customers and your understanding of their needs, you will also communicate customer and prospect product pain points to the PigCHAMP software product team for potential new product development, and work with the marketing department to ensure appropriate material reaches appropriate audiences.
Qualifications
- Three plus years sales experience
- College degree/diploma in Business, Animal Science, Computer Science, or related field
- Proven track record of successfully managing customer relationships
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas
- Documented strong experience/knowledge of the pork industry
- Communication skills, written and interpersonal
- Computer aptitude- Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with swine record-keeping software a plus
For training purposes, initially the successful candidate will be required to come into the Ames office on a daily basis, however, as you become more knowledgeable, and demonstrate your top-notch performance, this will likely become a hybrid role with occasional in-office meetings (internal and client).
The Sales and Customer Care Specialist role will involve periodic after hours work and occasional travel in the United States, Canada, and other international locations.
