Design and maintenance of automated reporting and leadership dashboards, complex analytics and reporting on key performance indicators supporting the corporate performance-based incentive program
Prepare and evaluate presentation materials, monthly management reports, providing dynamic solutions for adhoc analysis requests requiring creativity, problem-solving and exceptional analytical skills and collaborating with key business partners
Develop and maintain financial models used in technical data analysis including economic, cost/benefit scenario, and valuation analysis utilizing discounted cash flow, EBITDA multiple and replacement cost approaches to support annual goodwill impairment testing, full filer analysis and adhoc reporting requests from the CFO and leadership
Develop effective reporting solutions and creating financial models for scenario analysis to support senior leaders in making business decisions by providing useful analytics and data
Assist with the preparation of memos and presentation materials for senior leadership and Board of Directors including the compilation of variance analysis of actual performance results against forecasts, performance targets and industry benchmarks
Design and evaluate ongoing balance sheet and income statement analytics and develop a predictive model to support management analysis collaborating with the Corporate Planning & Forecasting and Corporate Accounting teams on an ongoing basis
Collaborate with the HR Total Rewards team in the development and performance reporting of Nutrien’s short-term and long-term incentive plans including quarterly reporting of the KPI Balanced Scorecard and long-term incentive plan performance
Annual plan design and preparation of quarterly Board presentation materials
Work in partnership with the Strategic Planning and Analysis, Business Development and Business Unit Decision Support teams to measure performance metrics and update scorecard reporting
Partner with other key stakeholders including Business Unit Decision Support teams, Strategy & Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Tax and IT to support analysis, and reporting for leadership
Investigate impact of complex accounting matters on internal management reports, provide recommendations and implement changes as required
Ad hoc analysis as required
What you will bring:
Professional accounting or finance designation (CPA - CA, CMA, CGA, CFA etc)
6 or more years of accounting or finance experience
3 years post-designation experience
Experience in financial analysis, data analytics, and model building
Self-starter with a high energy level, demonstrated success in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
Solution-oriented attitude with demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, peers, and team members and communicate effectively in written and verbal formats to various audiences including senior leadership
Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and procedures and adapt to changing requirements
Strong knowledge of SAP, Oracle and BPC systems would be considered an asset
Experience in the application and interpretation of IFRS standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
