What you will do:
Maintain and support our information systems and technology, in addition to collaborating in the development of new initiatives from the business and North American based IT peers
Communicate to the client at different levels of technical expertise that ensures the ability to correctly identify the technical issue and corrective actions each is engaged with
Collaborate with local and Corporate IT teams to maintain systems and satisfy business requests in a timely manner, such that our employees are able to do their jobs effectively and efficiently
Identify different ways to achieve the same results but improves service or processes
Acquire knowledge of Nutrien’s policies, procedures, and operations
Attend and participate in monthly departmental safety meetings and perform duties in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner
Maintain departmental inventory system and keep network and PC support supply needs fulfilled
Research, implement, and test new technology independently or as part of a project group
Create and update client assistance and technical documentation
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 user support for computer hardware, software, peripherals, and desk or cellular phones
Basic to advanced workstation, server, network, phone system administration and monitoring
Complete user requests (application\file access, hardware, software, etc.) through call logging system (ServiceNow)
Provide technical recommendations to user inquiries
Workstation, server, network, and phone system maintenance, upgrades, and deployments
Network troubleshooting and support
Hardware and software installation, inventory and licensing
Warehouse inventory maintenance and purchasing
Maintain records of problems reported, service problems, and report unsolved problems to the department head
Provide knowledge and input into technical work groups
Install computer hardware in an industrial setting including moving computer hardware up multiple flights of stairs in industrial setting
What you will bring:
A post-secondary degree from a recognized university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another relevant field
A minimum of three to five years of related experience is preferred
Consideration will be given to applicants with proven experience with designing/implementing/supporting Cisco networks and/or Microsoft Windows and Dell virtual server environments
Experience in CCNA or CCNP Certification, and/or Control Systems/DCS experience would be considered an asset
Ability to work with mathematical concepts
Knowledge of computers and various operating systems, including Windows 7, and Windows 10
Detailed working knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype, and Outlook
Experience with communications, test equipment, and local area network products
Ability to handle inter-personal communications is required, position will have daily contact with all levels of employees as well as with outside vendors
Ability to analyze complex server/networking problems and, determine a course of action for remediation. Ability to check and test software and hardware problems
Ability to handle multiple duties simultaneously while having interruptions such as telephone inquiries and special projects
Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
Knowledge of the industrial plant sites, operations, and inter-dependency of departments is recommended
Knowledge of Active Directory and image deployment systems (i.e. SCCM)
Verbal and written communication skills are essential
