Reporting to the Sr. Director, Corporate Credit, the Senior Manager, Corporate Credit Administration provides strategic financial leadership for Nutrien. This position will be a key member in the Corporate Credit function working with Wholesale, Retail, and Nutrien Financial Credit teams that will augment the Nutrien Finance organization.
This position will preferably be in Loveland, Colorado and will provide financial leadership in a complex, global company of significant scale. This position will have exposure to businesses with some or all the following characteristics: capital intensive, cyclical, commodity-oriented, business-to-business, requiring collaboration within Nutrien’s global Finance network.
The Senior Manager, Corporate Credit Administration will work within Corporate Credit to help build a captive structure within Nutrien Financial. The captive structure will allow Nutrien to expand sales and provide our Retail and Wholesale customers new financing solutions that are currently not available. This manager role will require development of new credit modeling and scoring techniques that will demonstrate effective auto decisioning. This person will need to possess the financial acumen and understanding of the current Nutrien financial structure, and what our vision is for the future. This manager role will require the proper experience and professionalism to help the Credit team communicate the Nutrien Financial message to Rating Agencies, Financial Market Analyst, and the Nutrien ELT.
What you will do:
Collaborate with the Wholesale, Retail, and Nutrien Financial Credit teams to determine credit modeling needs and develop auto decisioning versions where required.
Assist with the development and implementation of new credit processes and procedures where required, that can drive standardization and harmonization across the entire Company and complete annual updates to policies as needed.
Coordinate monthly consolidation of A/R results of the Wholesale, Retail and Nutrien Financial operations.
Work with the VP Nutrien Financial and the Sr. Director, Corporate Credit to develop a monthly and quarterly reporting package that can be presented and dispersed to a wide array of stakeholders. This would include Wholesale, Retail, and Nutrien Financial A/R portfolio analysis, segmentation, and risk.
Responsible for quarterly reporting of key credit metrics of Wholesale, Retail, and Nutrien Financial to the Credit Research Foundation.
Support the Senior Director, Corporate Credit, Director, Retail Credit, and Director, Wholesale Credit in M&A/Corporate Development activity as it relates to the A/R portfolio of the targeted acquisitions.
Function as a business partner and trusted advisor with multiple stakeholders and partner with business leadership to determine the information needs that best serve the Company’s internal and external customers.
Assist the Director, Wholesale Credit and Director, Retail Credit to collaborate with leaders across Nutrien’s Corporate group in matters related to financing our Customer’s needs, Credit, Portfolio management, Collections, accounting and financial reporting.
Participate in strategic organizational initiatives requiring a high degree of competence, creativity and confidentiality.
Work with the Sr. Director, Corporate Credit, Director, Wholesale Credit, and Director, Retail Credit to coordinate and facilitate the needs of both Internal, External, and SOX Audit teams as it relates to A/R and the Credit function.
Work with the Corporate Reporting Department to be the single point of contact for quarterly questionnaires or inquiries as it relates to A/R information reported on our public financial statements.
Work with the Legal and IT Departments to ensure the “Know Your Customer” software is being utilized for Wholesale, Retail, and Nutrien Financial Credit Departments and that any concerns regarding our customers is reported to the Legal Department.
Work with the IT Security team to ensure proper protocols are in place for Receivable Fraud Protection in Wholesale, Retail, and Nutrien Financial.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred
Minimum of 10 to 15 years of work experience with an accelerated career growth path in global senior financial management positions.
Prior experience working in an International role would be preferred.
A strong background in operational finance and controls with a role in reporting financial results
Experience with large ERP systems (SAP/IBM preferred, but not imperative) and advanced Excel skills
Ability to travel and work flexible hours to support all operations, and key regulatory reporting deadlines
Experienced in a fast growth environment, providing strategic direction from a financial and operational standpoint.
Experienced with problem solving in complex projects that have a company-wide impact
Ability to analyze company A/R data and make strategic and operational/actionable recommendations to improve financial/operational results.
Ability to develop, implement and manage change effectively.
Experience with international markets and functions.
Highly motivated and able to build team atmosphere among multiple departments
Manage efficient, effective and functionally integrated financial processes
Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to effectively interact with and influence individuals in different disciplines and at different levels
