What you will do:
Provide coordination, guidance and support for the safety programs/processes at the Augusta PlantEnsure regulatory compliance for the Augusta Plant related specifically to OSHA and other safety regulatory or recommended practices that Augusta is subject toAssist in Emergency Response efforts for training, coordination, and supplies for the teamActive field time, 75% in order to ensure regulatory compliance and support safety efforts by all personnel on siteAssist with audits of the 14 elements as support to the Safety Department functionsPSM support: participate in audits, emergency response drills, hazops, assist with MOC's and work with the contractors; this will be infrequentAssist in the abatement of PSM audit findings and recommendations by implementing corrective actions to the Issues identifiedServe as safety liaison for assigned operations and maintenance departments in order to understand work scopes and activities and to be available to respond to any issues or concerns work groups may have with safety compliance during planning and execution of work in the plantEnforce safety policies throughout the plant by being in the field visually verifying compliance with Augusta's Key procedures and best practicesCoordinate Hazard Communication program for the site by educating the contractors, verifying labeling, and ensuring communication in the plant is accurateReview and discuss new chemicals coming on site and ensure Persons who are using, storing, etc. those chemicals understand the PPE and controls required to protect themselvesProvide safety support for nested and non-nested contractor groups by attending their safety meetings, providing orientation, monitoring work and verifying they have what they need for safe workMonitor field safety audits and provide feedback to Safety Manager when areas of concern are identifiedExecute job hazard analysis for non-routine work where extraordinary risk may be presentMake recommendations in the development of Safety Department budget to the department managerIdentify safety items needed or desired to improve overall site safetyConduct safety audits for employees and contractors on site during work activitiesEnsure implementation of safety guidance documents through education and verification for all employees and contract workers and the companies they work forServe as site mobile equipment subject matter expert by continuing training, inspecting, auditing and verifying compliance in the fieldServe as fire protection subject matter expert by responding to inspection findings and coordinating with contract service providersAdditional ongoing education will be required to maintain current knowledge of requirementsParticipate in incident investigations as needed to assist the investigation team leader by interviewing, coordinating interviews, field inspections, and equipment inspections where needed to assist in determining root causeRecommend safety supplies and equipment for the site, department, and emergency response teamRespond to product spills on and off plant site, aid and assist as needed with clean upDevelop and conduct annual required safety training for employees as well as contractorsConduct Safety orientation for new employeesAttend Emergency Response training as an active participant and support resourceAssist with site security as neededFill the role of department manager if they are absent
What you will bring:
High School level educationEmergency Medical Technician (required) / Paramedic (preferred)Associate/Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
