The Mine Operations Scheduler will report to the Mine Production General Foreman.
What you will do:
  • Work closely with the Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance and Technical Services teams
  • Schedule all mining activities approximately 1 month in advance and in to approximately 1 week
    • Mining machine fleet advance, position, and status, by shift (including both mine production and mine rehabilitation work)
    • Ore supply projections by shift
    • Personnel requirements by shift
    • Scheduled maintenance support activity requirement estimates by shift
  • Deliver guidance reporting, demonstrating compliance to the mine plan and deliver results-based scenarios and options for Mine Leadership to select from on how to operate 
  • Work closely with the Mine Engineering team to ensure short-range mine planning forecasts are aligned to long-term site requirement to ensure safe, sustainable operations
  • Work closely with the Mine Maintenance Scheduler to ensure there is proper alignment of maintenance schedules to support reliable operations
  • Work closely with the Mine Production General Foreman to ensure the short range mine plan is achievable and supported by Mine Operations
  • Ensure work is being executed in alignment with the short range mine plan
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on how to manage the mining fleet (i.e. pro-actively address periods of low supply, or identify windows to complete opportunity work) as required 
  • Work on cross-functional team projected for the mine
  • On occasion, there may be supervision of employees and/or external contractors 
What you will bring:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in underground operating mine sites (preferred)
  • Proficiency with mine planning softwareProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to complete work in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detailAbility to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periodsRetain a positive attitude and customer focused approachAbility to prioritize and work as part of a teamExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to lead and develop people
  • Ability to identifying and managing operational, capital and business improvement requirements to execute mine development and production activities
  • Ability to provide coaching and mentoringA high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel is requiredExperience in forecasting and scheduling of work is considered an asset, including the use of mine planning and scheduling softwareExperience in Computer Maintenance Management Systems (Oracle, SAP, etc…) is considered an assetAbility to work underground
