The Nutrien Ag Solutions West Central IL/MO division is looking to hire a full time Market Development Sales Agronomist to assist our salesforce in developing their technical sales skills along with providing key customer accounts with in-depth agronomic advice.  The successful candidate will be responsible to test and evaluate new seed and nutritional products that provide benefits to growers in the division.  Must be dependable, reliable, safety conscious and be quick to develop working relationships with field staff and customers. Applicant should have experience with crops, pesticides, and fertilizers in the current market.  Effective time management, planning and multi-tasking skills.  Conducts themselves in a professional manner. 
 
This role will report to the division manager and work independently with each branch to provide product training and support for our Dyna Gro Seed brand along with Loveland plant nutrition and branded plant health products.
What you will do:
  • Develop & provide agronomic product & service training to field sales force & key accounts to support the sales & service of the crop inputs we provide
  • Promote and provide recommendations of Dyna Gro Seed varieties, Loveland Products and Precision services to farm customers through product knowledge and local field trials
  • Identify, procure and manage seed & plant nutrition grower demonstration plots for varietal comparison purposes of new products that fit with customer needs in the area
  • Together with Branch Managers establish direct linkages with key accounts to provide agronomy, product, & general crop production information at regular intervals
  • Support field sales force in resolving customer service calls
  • Support field sales force training of the technical departments of distributors regarding product positioning, crop management & customer complaints
  • Establish & maintain relationships with universities or other influencers within area
What you will bring:
  • A higher degree in Agronomy, Plant Sciences or Soil Sciences
  • 5-7 years of experience in agronomy or crop input market
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to negotiate at high levels and excellent presentation skills
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities
  • Ability to complete a Criminal Background Check, Drug & Alcohol Testing, and Driving Record Abstract as required by Nutrien Ag Solutions policies
