We are seeking a Mechanical Product Designer / Engineer to join our growing engineering team and contribute to the development of innovative agricultural equipment. This position is being posted to fill an upcoming vacancy.

Position Overview

As a Mechanical Product Designer / Engineer, you will work closely with an experienced engineering team to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of Nuhn equipment. This role combines product development, detailed mechanical design, and hands-on collaboration with manufacturing to bring new concepts from idea to production.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys solving real-world engineering challenges, and is motivated to develop practical, reliable equipment designed for demanding agricultural environments. We are looking for individuals who enjoy solving practical mechanical problems and taking ownership of designs from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for agricultural equipment including tankers, pumping systems, application equipment, and related machinery
• Create detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials using CAD software
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure components meet strength, durability, and performance requirements
• Work closely with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
• Support prototype builds, testing, and validation of new products and design improvements
• Participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives for existing products
• Assist with field testing and evaluation of equipment performance when required
• Select materials and components based on performance requirements, manufacturing processes, and cost considerations
• Collaborate with purchasing, production, service, and sales teams to ensure designs meet operational and customer needs

Skills and Experience

• Solid understanding of machine design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Experience designing fabricated structures and mechanical assemblies

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A hands-on mindset with interest in seeing designs implemented in production

Experience with the following systems is considered an asset:

• Hydraulic systems and fluid power components
• Agricultural or heavy mobile equipment
• Pumps, drivetrains, or power transmission systems
• Welded steel fabrications and structural design
• Manufacturing processes including welding, machining, and assembly

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field
• Experience using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
• Previous experience in agricultural equipment, heavy machinery, or mobile equipment design is considered an asset
