Advanced Search Launches New Resume Database Launches New Resume Database

Agriculture employers can now locate qualified employee applicants quicker and easier with the recently launched New Resume Database. An upgrade from the original, the new Resume Database features the same great pool of candidates in a more searchable manner. New revisions include additional search fields; ability to alter a current search; a way to filter results further; and much more.

“The revamp to our resume database has been a key area of focus for our business over the past few months,” said Eric Spell, president of “The drive to complete this update to the database is as a result of recent feedback from our clients. We are very excited about the advancements and time savers that we feel this edition will provide our clients.”

While the quality of candidates has always been available, the main goal of this update was to streamline the usage of the database for employer users. As mentioned, new search fields will help employers hone in on key search terms, job titles, locations, educational background and much more. With a simple to use ‘and/or’ button, candidates can quickly select the necessary criteria to produce tailored results.

From there, employers will now have the option to edit their current search if they feel that the returned results are too vague or did not return the candidates they were looking to find. To further refine or dig deeper into a full listing of candidates, database users can filter their results. The ‘Search Filter’ functionality allows users to quickly look at a snap shot by country, location, education, etc. and see how many resumes were returned by each criteria field. From there, the employer can select one of those particular areas, such as Iowa, and review only the resumes matching the search criteria from Iowa. Employers can quickly be returned to the overall results by simply clicking off the filter.

“One of the things that we hoped to accomplish with this rebuild was to take in and listen to our clients as to what they wanted in the new database and what we could do to make the database easier to use for them,” said Spell. “Through a series of feedback and testing sessions, I feel we were able to incorporate or plan to incorporate most of that feedback.”

Employers can now at a glance see a little more information about each candidate without having to click into their resume through the addition of ‘Additional Details.’ As search results are returned, each candidate will have listed their most recent or current job title and employer; preferred industry and career types; willingness to relocate; salary requirements; along with the standard education, location, and date the resume was updated.

As some of these were new fields, we are working diligently with the applicant and job seeker audience to populate these fields for resumes that are currently in the database. Going forward, some of the new fields were made mandatory and others highly recommended.

When clicking into a resume, further additional details can be found for each applicant who has provided them as well as the words used to search will now be highlighted within the resume, making it easier for employers to quickly scan and see the context of the keyword usage. plans to continue the progress of updates to the resume database with a few additional new features in the coming months, such as a postal code radius search, searching by relocation location, and a quick view of the additional details for each candidate. Also, an aggressive campaign to bring even more qualified resumes into the resume database will be implemented during the months of November and December 2010.

“Year to date, has hosted 31,025 jobs compared to 22,915 jobs in the same time frame in 2009,” said Spell. “That equates to nearly a 25% increase in the total number of jobs posted in 2010. This trend is interesting when you consider that the number of applications to jobs remained almost constant at approximately 90,000 applications. If this trend continues, we will quickly move from an ‘employers market’ to a ‘job seeker market.’ In a ‘job seeker market,’ the job seeker simply has the advantage because there are more jobs than people willing to leave their current positions. This is why we feel it is critical that we continue to make improvements to the site for both employers and job seekers!”
