The Inside Ranch and Livestock Specialist is accountable to the executives of Mumme’s

Job Summary:

The purpose of this job is to perform the duties of the consulting with and advising ranchers and livestock producers on all manners of problems and solutions associated with feeding, raising, and managing their animals and with the problems. This person is the chief inside salesman for all Mumme’s locations. He/she will promote the products of Mumme’s and solicit business and visit customers whenever his/her schedule permits.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Sell Mumme’s inventory to customers personally, by telephone, or by other appropriate means
• Take wildlife & livestock feed orders from customers and verify orders are delivered to feed mill for production
• Recommend and advise customers about products stocked by Mumme’s
• Assist in ordering and recommending products to ordered and used in feed rations
• Help warehouse supervisor in monitoring and ordering feed inventory for all locations
• Recommend actions concerning personnel and inventory at other Mumme’s locations
• Assist with ordering of show supplies, fencing, gates, and equipment for retail sales inventory.
• Maintain acceptable inventory levels and profit margin for products under his/her control
• Assist with approval and receiving of delivered inventory products
• Attend regularly scheduled manager meetings to share information that may be beneficial to all Mumme’s operations
• Must be proficient with Mumme’s Point of Sale, Purchase Order, and Inventory Management systems. 
• Assist with coordinating and conducting any Mumme’s meetings and events
• Manage all Veterinary Feed Directives forms
• Assist executives with any and all matters which they may delegate for the company to achieve success

Interaction: 

This individual is the primary contact person with customers away from the Mumme’s facilities and works closely with managers and personnel of all Mumme’s locations. He/she must coordinate with and provide recommendations to the corporate officers about matters affection the operation of Mumme’s facilities. They will supervise other employees assigned in helping with the cattle feeding operation while they are performing these duties. This person must also interact with the warehouse supervisor to coordinate scheduling of products going to and from Mumme’s locations. This person must also interact with vendors wishing to sell products or services to Mumme’s.

Qualifications:

The person filling this position must have an excellent knowledge of and practical or educational background in farming and ranching.  The knowledge and ability to formulate feed mixes and recommend proper feed requirements for livestock is needed. The ability to anticipate changing feed inventory requirements due to a variation in weather seasons, and pricing influence is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills are very important. This person must exhibit strong organizational and time management skills. This person must be able to set priorities necessary for the efficient performance of daily work activities, and effectively communicate same to affected personnel. He/she must be able to identify hazards in the workplace and suggest corrective actions.
